Security and surveillance products now on retail

With changing market dynamics, security solution providers in India are now diversifying into a new market segment—retail. Security has become one of the major concerns today, and demand for security products is coming from all sectors—institutional, government, home and retail shops. This sector has seen tremendous growth over the years. Taking advantage of this scenario, Samriddhi Automation Pvt Ltd has launched ‘sparsh secure’, an exclusive outlet for branded video surveillance security products. Sparsh is expected to open 25 outlets in this financial year, with the first in New Delhi. These outlets will serve a dual purpose—to revolutionise how consumers view security devices by making them aware of the products and their benefits. And on the other hand, security solution providers will have greater reach in the market by getting first hand experience of consumer demands.

Saturday, September 18, 2010: The franchisee model is doing well in various countries. However, it is still in its nascent stage in India, though it has huge potential. Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd has been tapping the market for the last four years, and has six outlets across India in collaboration with Home Town. Consumers can benefit immensely from these outlets.

Security is no longer related to just banks, institutions, defence establishments, etc, but has become a household requirement. Consumers are not aware of the products that are available in the market—these outlets will guide them to an array of devices to choose from and assemble as per their individual needs. They can get a first hand experience and watch demonstrations before purchasing the devices. Moreover, customers will be able to make better purchasing decisions to meet their needs and move away from buying security products primarily based on price.

Sparsh is one of the few Indian manufacturers of all types of CCTV cameras, DVRs, switchers and accessories. It is the first Indian company to manufacture indigenously developed, designed and technologically advanced CCTV cameras with technical support from Sony Electronics Singapore Ltd. With these outlets, Sparsh will not only be able to increase awareness but also be able to drive overall demand by gaining deeper penetration into the market. This will also help the company in serving end consumers better.

“Sparsh has raised the bar again by bringing another innovation to the industry. Instead of business-to-business, we are now moving to business-to-consumer model. This will benefit consumers as they can now touch and feel the products, and buy as per their preferences and requirements,’’ says Sanjeev Seghal, managing director, Samriddhi Automation Pvt Ltd.
