JS Shin, president & CEO, Samsung South West Asia has been awarded the prestigious ‘Man of Electronics Award 2011’ by Consumer Electronics and Appliance Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) at CEAMA’s 32nd Annual Function. The award was handed over to J S Shin by Rajeev Shukla, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs at a function held in New Delhi.
As per the CEAMA citation read out on the occasion, Shin has been conferred this Award “for his exceptional all round contribution to the Indian Electronics and Appliances Industry.”
He has applied the successful marketing strategies of the developed markets in India to overcome the weaknesses by adopting a differentiated strategy for marketing and selling in the metros, cities and semi urban markets. With the two track strategy, he was able to boost the South West Asia market from 1.7 US$ billion in 2008 to 3.5 billion US$ in 2010. He has given a huge thrust to Samsung’s manufacturing as well as R&D operations during his tenure. Samsung India today has manufacturing complexes at Noida and Chennai as well as R&D Centers across Delhi and Bangalore.
