Fan less cooling solutions

In December 2011, Emerson Network Power launched its innovative rear door heat exchanger.

Features and USP: The Liebert XDR is an innovative rear door heat exchanger that removes heat from IT racks before it even enters the data centre. Liebert XDR packs in high density servers within a small footprint, thereby eliminating the need for expansion or for new facilities for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs).

XDR (2), the Liebert XDR micro-channel heat exchangers, are mounted in a moveable door, which is fixed to a frame attached to the rear of the rack. It relies on server fans for hot air movement across a cooling coil, utilising a pumped refrigerant that is 700 per cent more efficient than water, to remove heat.
