The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is set to rate Indian companies on the basis of the environment friendliness of their practices and processes. The rating will focus on manufacturing and services sectors, besides their supply chain.
S Raghupathy, senior director and head, Green Business Centre, CII, said, “The green business rating, based on nine parameters, will be launched between September and October, so that the first set of companies are rated by early next year.” The nine parameters are energy efficiency, water management, use of renewable energy sources, greenhouse gas emissions, waste reduction, recycling, the green supply chain, product stewardship, etc.
