IESA to host DEFTRONICS 2016 in Bengaluru

IESA is hosting the third edition of annual Aerospace, Defence and Internal security focused  event along with Nasscom between August 4 to 5, at The Ritz Carlton, Bengaluru.

This year’s theme is Building India’s Strategic Electronics ecosystem for greater self-reliance and global relevance – Defence, Aerospace and Internal Security sectors.

The Global OEM and Indian companies alike are keen to leverage the opportunity of defence contracts, which reflects the success of initiatives like ‘Make in India’.

DEFTRONICS 2016 will bring together advocates from the government, the industry, the academia and the global arena with business networking opportunities with over 750 International and Domestic delegates and over 6 Countries.

The platform emphasis mainly on opportunities in A&D and will have focused sessions on Defence, Internal Security, Aerospace, Foreign Direct Investment, Defence Procurement Policy, Cyber Security, Design services, Opportunities arising from large deals, Defence Clusters & Perspective planning. The forum will also showcase success stories of various Indian & Multinational companies, Technology showcase by Start-ups, and many more.

Commenting on the occasion, M. N. Vidyashankar, President, India Electronics and Semiconductor Association said “ ‘Make in India’ has given a big push to domestic manufacturing in the space. The impact will be seen with some gestation due to complexities of electronics technology . We are glad that we will have the support of NASSCOM in building the domestic defence manufacturing, as India steadily transforms itself as a global superpower with defence self-reliance becoming an imperative in the near future.”

India’s current requirements on defence are largely catered to by imports. The Global OEM and Indian companies alike are keen to leverage the opportunity of defence contracts, which reflects the success of initiatives like ‘Make in India’.

India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) is the premier trade body representing the Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry.
