India’s leading electronic components distributors

February 13, 2015: Over 2014, a number of major changes took place in the trading and distribution markets in India, which affected the supply chain services. Major policy changes that impacted the trading sector, the changes in taxes and duties and the continuous depreciation of the Indian rupee against the US dollar added to the uncertainties in the market. With the Department of Trade and Taxes enforcing Form T-2 for the procurement of goods from outside Delhi, the state of Maharashtra was affected the most with Local Body Tax (LBT) coming into effect.

The internal trading by electronic components distributors in India was hampered by numerous other challenges.

In this article, we feature 20 of the leading distributors of electronic components that operate in India. It should be mentioned that the majority of the companies did not file their latest revenue figures with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and hence, we could not rank them on the basis of their turnover.

Therefore, we have featured these companies alphabetically. To bring out this list of the 20 leading distributors, we took the help of industry experts and companies themselves, and assessed the firms on the basis of their revenues over a couple of years. The list has also been drawn up based on the number of reputed principals these distributors boast of. Some major global distributors do not feature in the list as they do not have a direct presence in India (with no representative or branch office).

However, as is the latest trend, many of these companies also trade in other products besides electronic components. We did not include companies that are purely into trading in semiconductors.
